VIRTUAL FORUM AMÉRICAS ETHICS IN HEALTH

Business ethics and integrity are at the core of patient-centered healthcare. As the Covid-19 pandemic demonstrated, business ethics and integrity in healthcare are also critical to resilient and sustainable economic growth. The Virtual Forum “Americas – Ethics in Health”, held live, online and in person in Brasília, on August 17 and 18, presented the advances in ethics and business integrity, transparency and good governance that have been achieved since the 8th Summit of Americas, held in Peru in 2018.

And the President of Braile Biomédica, Patricia Braile, was present, among the big names, in the panel workshop "Increasing integrity in health purchases: lessons from the pandemic", which discussed the lessons that remained from the pandemic on the role of ethics and commercial integrity in purchasing in healthcare-related sectors and what more can be done by purchasing authorities at the international, national and local levels to ensure that companies and individuals adopt ethical practices in day-to-day operations. The panel workshop was attended by Valentin Diaz Gracia, National Director of the Unified Health System Supply Center (Cenabast), Ministry of Health, Antônio Carlos Fonseca Silva, Deputy Attorney General and Member of the Ethics Council, Health Ethics Institute, Rafael Andrés Díaz-Granados, Executive Director of the Latin American Federation of the Pharmaceutical Industry (FIFARMA) and Patricia Braile, CEO and President of Braile Biomédica. Moderated by Kathleen Hamann, Partner, Pierce Atwood LLP.
