Cardiopulmonary Bypass Machine BEC

The Extracorporeal Circulation Machine (ECC Machine) consists of four pump modules, two rechargeable batteries that activate in the event of a local power outage, and a water circulator to heat and cool the water circulating in the oxygenator, where heat exchange takes place. This section has a 4-liter reservoir, a 1.2KW heating element, and a 120W water pump. The diversion of water flow to the heating element (for heating) or to the water reservoir (for cooling) is done via a manually operated valve using a handle located on the equipment box to the left of the operator.

Each circulation module is a peristaltic pump with double rollers and unidirectional flow. Tube occlusion adjustments are made via the central handle of the housing, whose rollers move equally and simultaneously away from and towards its wall. Different flow rates can be achieved by using various motor speeds. The 1/4 HP motor allows for rotations from 1 to 200 RPM. On the control panel, the pump speed can be adjusted, and both speed (min-1 = RPM) and blood flow in liters per minute can be monitored. In the pump module, various flow rates can be achieved using three different tube sizes: 1/2”, 3/8”, and 1/4”. Due to the low rotation speeds achievable with this module, it can also be used for cardioplegia. This model also features a patient body surface area adjustment, which allows for the display of flow rate per square meter of the patient.
