The origin of Braille.
In 1977, driven by the desire to expand people's access to cardiac surgery, Dr. Domingo founded IMC Biomédica, which would later become Braile. The company was born with a bold purpose: to produce highly complex devices that previously depended on imports, such as heart valves, oxygenators, and extracorporeal circulation machines.
By replacing foreign dependence with domestic technology, Braile has propelled Brazil to the top of the world in cardiac surgery.

A living legacy
Dr. Domingo Braile passed away in 2020, but his vision remains present in every device he created, in every patient he treated, and in every professional trained under his influence. His story, marked by courage, discipline, and love for medicine, shaped a movement of national transformation.
His daughter Patrícia Braile and his grandson Rafael Braile continue to honor his commitment, bringing excellent medical technology to those who need it most, keeping alive the mission of the "heart mender" who changed the history of healthcare.

With a law degree from USP and a Master's degree in Philosophy from PUC, Patrícia Braile answered her father's call and joined the company with the mission of building a solid foundation for Braile's sustainable growth.
She was responsible for structuring and implementing strategic areas such as Quality, Human Resources, and other sectors essential for an ethical and responsible organization. A champion of ethics and compliance, she implemented Braile's Compliance Committee and brought a more human-centered approach to business management, contributing decisively to the company's continuous transformation and evolution. She is actively involved in the industrial sector, serving on the boards and councils of entities such as ABIMO, CIESP, FIESP, SESI, SENAI, ACIRP, Instituto Ética Saúde, and ABRAIDI.
Rafael Braile

With a degree in Mechanical Engineering from USP and currently studying Business Innovation at Harvard University, Rafael Braile joined the company with a vision for the future and the purpose of highlighting the strength of Brazilian technology for Brazil and the world.
He works focusing on the development of new technologies that generate a positive impact and contribute to improving people's quality of life. He is also the Executive Director of Biotrade, a company in the Braile group in Portugal, and a member of the board of the Technology Park and the supervisory board of the Association of Information Technology Professionals and Companies of São José do Rio Preto (SP).
